About Me

Hello! My name is Mimi, and I am a music educator and music history enthusiast. My primary instrument is the modern Flute, but I play many other instruments including the Euphonium!

Education

I am currently working on getting my bachelors degree in music education from San Diego State University.

Flute

This is my 11th year playing the flute. I fell in love with this instrument as a kid, and found myself studying it on a professional level in college. My favorite flute in the flute family is the alto flute, which I adore playing in chamber groups. I also and beginning my journey on the baroque flute this year!

Euphonium

This was the first instrument that I learned outside of the flute family. I fell in love with it right away, as I have always loved the sound of low brass. I have been playing the euphonium on and off since 2018, but started to take it seriously in college.

Where Do I See Myself in Five Years?

In Five years, I hope to have gotten my Master's degree in Musicology, and either teaching at a university or working on getting my Doctorates!

What is my favorite Composer?

My favorite composer is Frédéric Chopin, especially his piano etudes. I absolutely adore his music!
